Sun exposure, including tanning beds and the application of sunless tanning products, must be avoided for 2 weeks prior and after the treatment, preferably 4 weeks.
Sun exposure, tanning, and sunless tanning products decrease the effectiveness of the laser treatment and increase the chance of post-treatment complications.
Please come to your treatment free of any lotion, makeup, and sunscreen. If you have any of these on, they must be completely washed off prior to treatment.
Accutane and any other photosensitizing medication should be discontinued for a period of at least 6 months prior to receiving treatment and should not be used during your course of treatment.
Waxing and/or the use of chemical depilatories must be avoided in the treatment area for 2 weeks before and after the treatment to avoid skin sensitivity.
Shaving is allowed before treatment to remove surface hair in the areas to be treated.
You may not be pregnant for any treatment.
During the course of your treatments, notify your clinician of any changes to your medical history, health status, or personal activities that may be relevant to your treatment.

Following treatment, it is important to keep treated skin out of the sun for at least 24 hours.
Immediately after your Pico treatment, you may experience warmth or a feeling similar to a light sunburn.
Some patients will experience moderate redness, this should subside within a few hours/overnight.
If you have pigmented areas that have been treated, they may darken over the next few days. This is completely normal and the pigment will slough off or gradually lighten within a few weeks.
12 – 24 hours post-treatment, you can gently was your face or treated area with Vivier Hexam cleanser, or a gentle unscented cleanser of your choice. (Do not scrub skin).
Gently pat skin and allow to air dry 1-2min.
Apply moisturizer evenly to skin.
Cleanse and moisturize morning and night for 3 days post treatment. (avoid using active ingredients during this time).
Apply sunscreen daily, reapplying every few hours if outdoors. (Make this a daily habit or your results will not last).
If you are breakout prone, this treatment may surface underlying congestion faster. This is a normal process of the treatment.
Resume skin care with active ingredients after 3 days.
We recommend, a Hydrafacial 7-10 post-treatment or adding a Jessner Peel to your treatment for best results.
A series of this treatment is required for hyperpigmentation clearance and skin rejuvenation as well as accompanied by result driven products, for best results.
