What is the benefit of microneedling treatments using RF energy?

Using RF energy will trigger your body’s natural response to create an increased level of collagen and elastin production, resulting in an enhanced skin revitalization treatment versus microneedling alone.

What can I expect from the treatment?

Treatment times may vary, however most treatments can be performed in 45 min or less. Potenza treatments are well-tolerated, with minimally reported side effects, such as pinpoint bleeding, swelling, redness, or irritation. As pain tolerance varies from patient to patient, numbing cream may be offered by your physician to make it more tolerable.

The Potenza RF microneedling treatment uses ultrafine needles and heat to penetrate the top layer of the skin and trigger the body’s natural healing process to regenerate new collagen and elastin. The number of passes and penetration to the skin will vary by patient and affect the results seen. The elastin and collagen building typically takes place 4-6 weeks after treatment, with optimal results usually seen at 12 weeks after the last treatment.

  • • Proper skin care products for youR specific concerns are a MUST to achieve your desired results. If you have not had a consultation, please make sure to book in for a skin assessment prior to booking this treatment.

    • Keep hydrated by drinking water (at least eight cups daily), preferably 2-3L or hydrating fluids prior to appointment to improve treatment outcomes.

    • Avoid drinking alcohol for 24 hours prior to treatment.

    • For three to seven days prior to treatment, avoid therapies that may cause erythema (redness) or irritation, such as retinols or products containing isotretinoin and any exfoliating acid preparations.

    • Shave visible hair from the treatment area 24 hours before appointment

    • Male beards should be shaved on the day of treatment.

    • You can book a Dermaplane -add on to this treatment or combine this treatment with a Picosure Glow & Go/ Renew for optimal results!

    • The same procedure should be followed prior to each visit.

  • • Do not scrub or exfoliate the skin.

    • Continue to Hydrate! Ideally drinking 2-3L daily or at least 8 cups of water to achieve best results.

    • Wash the area with warm water and a mild cleanser.

    • Do not apply liquid makeup for at least 24 hours; mineral makeup (like ColoreScience) is acceptable after the erythema resolves.

    • If erythema after treatment persists, use an ice pack (or frozen peas) at home, but always use a protective barrier, such as a face cloth, between the skin and the ice pack.

    • Always wash your hands thoroughly before touching your face: there are micro path ways opened into the dermis and hands will introduce bacteria.

    • If skin feels tight or dry, apply moisturizing cream frequently.

    • If you currently have skin breakouts, you may find that the condition may temporarily worsen due to inflammation or edema.

    • Do not pick at treated tissue: doing so may result in hyper- or hypopigmentation.

    • Avoid ultraviolet rays and apply sunblock >30+ SPF UV A/B daily.

    • Avoid alcohol consumption for 24 hours

    • For at least 48 hours, refrain from high intensity aerobic exercise or activities that increase the body temperature like saunas, hot tubs, steam showers or exercise (i.e. jogging, weight training, kickboxing, etc.).

    • Call your practitioner if any problems develop: concerns regarding rash, itching, erythema, etc., for more than 24 hours.
